Camborne is geographically the largest parish in Cornwall. Reflecting Cornwall's diversity of urban areas, characterful villages, and sparsely populated rural areas of outstanding natural beauty. The Council administers an area of approximately 2,800 hectares and nearly 23,000 people live within the boundaries which include the villages of Barripper, Beacon, Brea, Kehelland, Penponds and Troon. 18 Councillors on Camborne Town Council represent the wards of Roskear, Trelowarren, Troon and Treswithian. Councillors are supported by a team of staff and the Town Clerk. In addition, there is a hard-working Amenities Team that maintains the wide range of facilities managed by us. We provide a wide range of facilities including parks, playing fields, allotments, library services, community events, public realm CCTV, grants, and community donations. **Job Purpose**:
There is a demanding workload and there is a need to meet competing demands and tight deadlines whilst producing high quality work.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Responsible to: Head of Community and Culture

**Tenant Identification and Engagement**: Plan, initiate and deliver key strategic business development projects including, identify and engage potential tenants for the facilities within the Basset Community Hub. Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and community groups interested in utilising the hub's facilities. Identify project resource needs and implement solutions, working closely with other professional services as required.

**Community-Centric Development**: Lead the development of events, activities and programs that align with national heritage lottery projects and the broader community's interests. Ensure these initiatives contribute to the preservation and promotion of the local heritage.

**Stakeholder Engagement**:Liaise with local authorities, community organisations, and other stakeholders to gather insights and perspectives on community needs and preferences. Ensure that all projects and initiatives are aligned with the best interests of the local community.

**Community Needs Understanding**: Exhibit a deep understanding of the needs, desires, and aspirations of the local community. Strive to create initiatives and projects that directly address these needs and contribute to the community's overall well-being.

**Marketing & Promotion**:Ensuring all Town Council vehicles of communication are optimised to make project information and public consultations as accessible as possible, keeping all interested parties updated on project progress and current affairs.

**Monitoring and Report**: Ensure all engagement work is appropriately recorded, success is monitored and regular reporting takes place to keep Senior Managers and The Town Council fully informed.

**Essential Attributes**
- 5 GCSE”s A-C including English Language
- Qualifications related to events and/or marketing
- Experience of working as Communications and/or Engagement staff
- Excellent oral and written skills, including an ability to relate to and communicate with councillors, staff, members of public and external agencies.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft programs and digital communication platforms, including websites, social media and content management systems.
- Ability to build and manage effective and resilient relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels inside and outside of the organisation.
- Ability to work proactively and manage a varied and demanding workload to meet competing demands and tight deadlines and produce high quality work.
- Ability to obtain and understand complex information and communicate it concisely and simply to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to respond positively and constructively whilst under pressure.
- Experience of producing high quality reports, articles, adverts, newsletters etc showing a strong written ability and grammatical knowledge.
- To be a positive ambassador of the Town Council and Camborne
- To be an excellent communicator at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders
- Self-reliant and motivated.
