**Job Title**:Childrens Residential Home - Specialist Worker

**Salary**:£26,364 - £28,392 depending upon qualifications and experience
**Working hours**: 39 hours per week - Based upon an agreed monthly rota averaging 169 hours per month
**Sleep-in payments**: £30 per sleep
**Mileage/Travel payments**: Mileage payments as per company policy - Mileage payments paid from home. Additional travel time payments after the first 30 minutes of travel to and from place of work.
**£500 joining bonus**

**Purpose and summary of job -**
A specialist worker’s main purpose is to plan, prepare and deliver direct sessions to children and young people within their specialist discipline. This will include working across all homes within the assigned region. The sessions will be aimed at ensuring the children and young people have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of activities and experiences to enrich their lives and to fulfil their potential.
As a specialist worker you may be required to support the wider staff team to enable them to effectively support children and young people within the specialist discipline. This may include delivering workshops, attending team meetings and supporting with care planning.
The role is an enhanced role to run alongside normal duties of a residential care worker
As an RCW the working day can be very unpredictable and you could find yourself doing a variation of duties such as organising activities to attending parental appointments. We are looking for people who are flexible, reliable, adaptable able to read situations to help our young people make positive choices.
- Meeting the needs of the Children and Young People in line with OFSTED regulations
- Organising and facilitating Social Activities (out of school)
- Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning shopping etc.)
- Attending & participating in team meetings
**Working Environment**
The Children’s Homes provides 52-week therapeutic care, in a residential setting the setting is a sensory environment which helps to support children and young people back into the community. Therefore, the role will be working on a rota basis (average 169 hours a month) and will at times require sleep-in duties depending on the size and the needs of the home.
As the role will be a regional based role it is essential the specialist worker is a driver with access to their own transport and the willingness to travel across the region, this maybe at short notice. Due to the travel requirements of the role mileage payments will be given and additional travel time payments after the first 30 minutes of travel.
**Qualifications/Experience/Requirements**
- Ability to meet the job description and person specification
- Qualification in relevant specialist discipline that will enable you to meet the person specification and job description of the role
- Experience of working with children and young people/or relevant transferable experience
- Driver with access to own transport
- Ability and willingness to undertake and complete a level 3/4 in Childrens social care
- Willingness to use own transport and to travel across the assigned region
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the rota and undertake sleep in duties
