Research Associate in Translational Tissue Repair

This is an exciting opportunity for a research associate in wound healing in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at The University of Manchester, working in partnership with colleagues in Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) and industry collaborators. The post holder will join a dynamic, collegiate and successful team that is making a difference for patients and the public and addressing a major health challenge.
We undertake a range of research aimed at improving outcomes for people with complex wounds, which can include pressure, leg and foot ulcers and wounds resulting from trauma and surgery. The post holder will join the Blond McIndoe Tissue Repair lab and would be part of the NIHR-funded Manchester Biomedical Research Centre, working with researchers and academics as well as clinical and industry partners. They will focus on exploration of biological mechanism of wound healing, aiming to understand factors that can impede the normal healing process and may be treatment targets. Our focus within the complex wound programme of the Manchester Biomedical Research Centre is to facilitate translational complex wounds research. The post holder would also be expected to interface with health professionals, service users and applied health researchers to support the on-going development of clinical research infrastructure to facilitate rapid exploration of factors of interest in in vivo as well as in vitro work.
