**About us**
- The Heart of England Community Rail Partnership (CRP) was established in 2019 bringing together rail industry partners, local authorities, businesses and communities. Community Rail is about integrating stations into their communities and finding out how the railways can best socially and economically support the areas they serve. The partnership area covers 36 stations in Solihull, Coventry and Warwickshire.
- Over the past 4 years the Heart of England CRP has worked on a diverse range of projects and schemes, involving local people and organisations to improve local railways. We’ve planned and delivered events such as our Coventry Station Community Day and guided Rail Trail walks as well as projects that have aimed to break down some of the barriers people have to travelling by train. These have included Railway Explorations, a current project working with refugees and asylum seekers, to help increase rail confidence and familiarisation, and Creative Platforms, where we used art to help those with anxiety about rail travel.
- The CRP aims to promote the opportunities and attractions along the rail network through projects like our Rail Trails scheme as well as connecting our stations more strongly with their local communities through engagement projects such as our current Rugby Colour Palette project. A key part of our role is to encourage people to use the railways as a sustainable form of active travel.

**About the role**
- Warwickshire County Council is looking for a Community Rail Partnership Officer on behalf of the Heart of England CRP. The role is to be hosted by WCC with the post working alongside the Lead CRP Officer, reporting to the Heart of England CRP. The job will include a varied and challenging workload, with a primary focus on working with young people through the implementation of educational workshops and trips, but with the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of projects and activities. There is the potential for the role to develop through the variety of projects being delivered and establishing links with other partnerships across the region.

Salary for this role is: £15,852 - £17,262 pro rata

**Key skills and experience required**
- To be successful in this role you will need to be motivated and have good organisational skills. You will need to have the ability to use your initiative, work independently, have strong and creative ways to solve problems, engage local communities and be able to inspire others. As you will be working with and alongside a wide range of internal colleagues, partners and community groups, you will need to have good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience of working with and engaging with young people would be desirable.
