- 37 hours / Fixed-Term- 24,294 - 25,545 *- County Hall, Aberaeron- *All salary values are pro-rata.- About the roleWe are looking to recruit a Housing Assistant to join our Housing Team on a fixed-term, full time basis:

- to fulfil the role of Liaison Officer for the processing of housing grants, loans and HMO licences
- to undertake detailed and specific duties in relation to the requirements of the Housing service

On a day to day basis you will:

- provide advice and assistance to the public within area of work, in writing, by telephone or face to face
- ensure that the Housing Grants and Loan Service gives high priority to customer care ensuring that all complaints are fully and properly dealt with at an early stage
- liaise with other Services of the Council and external agencies to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Housing Grants & Loans Service

We are looking to recruit an individual:

- to be an effective communicator to a wide range of audiences both orally and in writing
- ability to show empathy to clients including those deemed vulnerable
- able to cope in stressful or confrontational situations when dealing with clients, contractors or other internal or external agencies
- to have a friendly and helpful disposition
- to have a flexible attitude towards the overall needs of the section
- ability work as part of a team
- able to build effective working relationships within and outside the Authority

In addition to the above, we require an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. A successful applicant without the required Welsh language skill will be fully supported to reach the desired standard within two years of appointment.
