**Job summary**:

- Immigration Enforcement (IE) is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. - Immigration Prison Team (IPT) is the operational arm of Foreign National Offender, Removals Command (FNO RC) and comprises of 13 teams based in a variety of locations across the UK. The HMP Risley Team is embedded within the prison and Immigration Officers (IOs) work closely with HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) to enable us to carry out key frontline interactions. Our main objective is to protect the public, by rigorously pursuing removal or deportation of Foreign National Offenders (FNOs), convicted of criminal offences, where legislation permits. We support case owners to remove barriers and enable timely removal or deportation, on conclusion of their sentence, or as soon as possible afterwards.**Person specification**:

- Undertake operational activity on prison wings, interacting with FNOs face to face.
- Serve a variety of legal paperwork to FNOs, provide case updates where necessary.
- Conduct induction interviews with FNOs, to confirm status, nationality and identity.
- Complete a wide range of interviews with FNOs, including interviews under caution and asylum.
- Conduct immigration surgeries in the various prisons.
- Work closely with internal and external partners, it is essential to ensure excellent stakeholder relationships are developed, as well as maintained to achieve the best access to FNOs.
- Liaise with, and support case owners to conclude barriers to removal or deportation.

This is a demanding and challenging hands-on role, in a unique working environment, but is equally fulfilling, offering a wide range of development opportunities. There is an element of office based work, however, a large part of the working day will be spent on prison wings at various prison locations.

Due to the nature of this role, frequency of travel and business needs, this role is only available on a full-time basis.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Asylum interview trained.
- Warranted.
- Minimum Level 2 Personal Safety Trained.
