**Job summary**:

Immigration Prison Team (IPT) is the operational arm of Foreign National Offender, Removals Command (FNO RC) and comprises of 13 teams based in a variety of locations across the UK. The HMP Risley Team is embedded within the prison and the admin role is key to the success of the team and supports Immigration Officers (IOs), and works closely with HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) to enable us to carry out key frontline interactions.

Our main objective is to protect the public, by rigorously pursuing removal or deportation of FNOs, convicted of criminal offences, where legislation permits.

We support case owners to remove barriers and enable timely removal or deportation, on conclusion of their sentence, or as soon as possible afterwards.

Due to the operational nature of the role, we are unable to offer hybrid working.

**Person specification**:
Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

- Managing and respond to queries received into team inboxes.
- Answering telephone queries from internal/external stakeholders.
- Regular liaison with HMPPS to support operations.
- Supporting Immigration Officer’s (IOs) in their role, ensuring they have all the information they need to conduct efficient and effective tasks.
- Carrying out Ad Hoc tasks to support the Chief Immigration Officer (CIO) when required.
- Log, manage and disseminate Asylum cases.
- Scan and upload documents to appropriate systems.
- Run reports.
- Maintain spreadsheets and ensure data quality and accuracy.

These roles can be physically demanding and if successful you will be required to complete and pass specialist training including Personal Safety Training (PST) which develops skills in personal safety, arrest and restraint techniques. This demands physical activity and physical contact with delegates on the course. You will be required to complete a PST health declaration and, if necessary, attend a medical examination. A formal offer will be conditional upon you being physically fit to undertake and pass the training. You need to be comfortable working in prisons and deploying to prison wings if necessary.

- Have a strong sense of personal ethics and honesty.
- Are familiar with computers and have a basic knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Hold a full Valid UK driving licence (manual).

**Desirable criteria**
- Prior knowledge of the immigration processes, however training will be provided.
- Personal Safety Training (Level 2).
