Overview:
Harrow Council is looking for a Interim/Acting up -Team Leader-Waste to work collaboratively and flexibly, with responsibility for the daily delivery of service standards within Environmental Operations, managing Operational Teams to achieve high standards of delivery and high customer satisfaction. Manage the work of staff within the operational area and be responsible for the deployment of staff and resources to relevant teams and frontline services ensuring the overall quality of service delivery. Undertake the management of the relevant team’s disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence and change management processes. Manage relevant budgets as allocated to the area, including overtime expenditure budgets. Manage all expenditure within the area of responsibility. To ensure continuity of service in times of severe weather and absences whether planned or unplanned.

About you:

- Management or senior supervisory experience in the delivery of services in a service industry organisation.
- A working knowledge of relevant Health & Safety and Welfare legislation and approved Codes of Practice within the specific service area.
- An understanding of relevant environmental legislation for one or more of the services covered by the role.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and empower staff and promote teamwork.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a demanding and pressurised environment and ability to defuse difficult situations
- Current clean, full UK driving licence.
- Must have a clear understanding of the diverse nature of Harrow’s communities and the implications for services delivered to residents and service users.
- Able to work outside in all conditions
- Able to work flexibly in response to the service needs of a 24/7 business including weekends, evenings, and Bank Holidays and rota and shift patterns.
