- Job description- Do you want to lead, manage, and motivate a team to be their best?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Solent and South Downs Agriculture Team for three days a week. This is a job share position, and we are looking for someone who complements our current part-time Team Leader who also works three days a week. They currently work Monday-Wednesday but would be willing to change to Wednesday-Friday to fit with a new job-share partner.
You'll work with your fellow Team Leader to focus our resources where we can make the most significant difference and ensure that everyone who works here has the support they need to do a fantastic job. You should have strong leadership skills, be able to shape and develop your team, remain focused on the most critical priorities, take timely decisions, and communicate concisely and clearly.
You'll lead a busy team of Agricultural Officers who perform a regulatory and enforcement role for the agricultural sector. Responding to significant environmental incidents is also essential to the team's work. We have a flexible range of roles you can volunteer for, and you'll get all the training and support you need.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident and you will support your team to do the same. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team- The Team is at the forefront of our efforts to protect our rivers and seas through the regulation of the agricultural sector.
This is a dispersed team based across offices in Sussex and Hampshire, spending much of their time in the field performing their regulatory role. We work flexibly from the office, in the field and from home. You will need to be co-located with members of your team on a weekly basis.
- Experience/skills required- You'll be able to demonstrate the following:

- Experience of leading people. This may have been achieved through non-line management roles such as project management or technical leadership roles
- Managing the health, safety and well-being of yourself and others, to ensure that working in the Environment Agency enhances people’s lives
- Ability to translate organisational outcomes into plans and programmes for frontline delivery in an operational environment
- Ability to deliver results through others by monitoring the delivery of targets, managing multiple priorities, and competing demands
- Demonstration of political awareness and sensitivity when dealing with customers, partners, and communities
- Build and maintain productive relations with customers to achieve demonstrable environmental benefits
- Knowledge of the agriculture sector or environmental management desirable but not essential

It’s not necessary to have experience of working in the Environment Agency. Training and support will be provided.
