**As a Voids/ Repairs Surveyor, a typical day might include**:

- Interpreting data and writing reports for the Acis management team
- Completing site inspections and accompanying documentation to monitor quality control, commercial accuracy and adherence to statutory, non-statutory standards, approved codes of practice, technical guidance and specification
- Assisting and supporting the Repairs and Maintenance Manager and supervisors, providing a pre and post inspection regime for all occupied and unoccupied properties, ensuring that they are repaired in line with the required policies, procedures, housing health and safety rating system (HHSRS) and lettable standards
- Undertaking competitive tendering for void & Repair works to ensure value for money, whilst not negatively impacting on service standards or quality.
- Assisting with the inspection of work required to empty properties and repairs works.
- Accurately recording, using the latest available technology, all surveys and inspections in the agreed manner. This will include effective diagnosis and remediation of damp to Acis owned or managed properties.
- Taking the lead on pre and post inspection on all contracted works in line with the organisations targets.
- Assisting in standardising and formally documenting formal inspection reporting procedures.
- Undertaking and documenting client relationship management casework to support the resolution of customer enquiries, service issues and formal complaints..
- Adhering to health and safety regulations to ensure the safety of yourself, your colleagues, customers and the general public.
- Carrying out Health, Safety & Environment inspections in line with the organisations targets, reporting good and bad practices evidenced on site.
- Assisting the Repairs and Maintenance Manager and supervisors in collating information for improving organisational performance.

**What looks good to us**:

- A technical background in construction or social housing repairs and maintenance and qualified to NVQ level 2 or equivalent
- Good and varied technical knowledge of building and/or housing maintenance
- Significant level of experience in the construction or housing sector
- Experience in preparing schedules of work and bills of quantities
- A good knowledge and experience of health and safety legislation and compliance issues
- Ability to plan programme delivery and work to tight deadlines

**What will make you stand out from the crowd**:

- HND/HNC in facilities, building or construction services
- Previous experience of contract management and construction (design and management) regulations
