**Residential Childrens Support Worker**

**Salary**: £22,133 - £22,916 per annum (plus up to £1,000 joining bonus)

School Staffing Solutions are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of the residential support team working within in a childrens home. In this role, you will support vulnerable young people and be responsible for providing compassionate care during your time with them.

Your role would be based at a home for children and young people where daily living experiences and activities are meaningful and memorable and are designed to meet the needs of individual children in areas that are personal to them.

The home accommodates children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. It can also support children and young people with Learning Disabilities, Attachment Disorder, Asperger syndrome and other associated autistic spectrum disorders as well as young people experiencing difficulties with mental health, troubled family relationships or conduct.

Experience isn’t always essential but there are a few characteristics you will need to be successful in this role:
**Resilience **- We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.

**Communication **- Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.

**Organisation **- You’ll need to be confident and organised in updating care plans and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.

**Caring **- Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.

**Attentive **- No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
