**Overview of Responsibilities**:
**Who are we looking for?**

A great opportunity has risen for an Export Control Officer to join us here at UKAEA. Part of the role is to be involved with the Transport Team who are responsible for managing the import/export arrangements and transport of dangerous goods for UKAEA, this will include the provision of advice on the regulatory aspects of import and export compliance, the transport of dangerous goods (including radioactive material) and the overseeing of consignments to and from site.

Part of your role will be to ensure that the organisation remains compliant with relevant internal procedures and national legislation for export/import and the transportation of dangerous goods (including class 7 radioactive). You will also be interfacing with internal and external customers to ensure that the requirements of transport and export are adhered to. To be successful in this role you will need to be an effective communicator with good interpersonal skills.

**What will you be responsible for?**
- Providing authoritative advice to projects and managers on transport and import/export
- Supporting the interface with the relevant Regulators or external authorities
- Providing assurance of the adequacy of transport arrangements through overview of audits, inspections, investigation of events and self-assessment reviews
- Ensuring effective communication with respect to export control and transport of dangerous goods across UKAEA to include the delivery of training (Radioactive Materials Co-Ordinator, Export Control and the creation of CBT packages) and the maintenance of the transport of dangerous goods and export control sections on Nucleus

Full-time**Qualifications**:
**Essential skills, experience and competence required**
- Degree or relevant transport qualification (Export Control/Dangerous Goods).
- Proven experience of SPIRE the Export Control Joint Unit's (ECJU) online export licencing system.
- Thorough knowledge of Government policy and concerns relevant to import-export and export control.
- Proven experience of export control laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2021.
- High degree of computer literacy.
