**Overview of Responsibilities**:
**Who are we looking for?**

UKAEA are a world leader in fusion technology and are about to undertake a once in a generation project to decommission JET - the Joint European Torus fusion reactor. This is an exciting role for a Cost Controller to join the project management office to support the programme.

The programme is forward thinking in its technical approach and combines this with project management rigour in delivering value for money in decommissioning.

We are looking for strong communicators, who are pro-active, delivery focussed and enjoy working in a modern, dynamic team delivering the JET Repurposing and Decommissioning Programmes & Projects.

**What will you be responsible for?**
- Accurate and efficient preparation of project/programme budgets and forecasts
- Timely monthly monitoring of actual spend against budget and progress (earned value management)
- Effective production and design of dashboards for programme and project managers
- Providing excellent budgeting/estimating advice to project managers
- Assisting with the recruitment and training/coaching of new cost engineers.
- Training and coaching others in financial management and earned value management.

£49,396 to £52,293 (inclusive of MPP) + excellent benefits including outstanding pension- Programme

Full-time**Qualifications**:
**Essential Criteria and Qualifications**:

- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Previous experience in a project financial role on a large, complex engineering project
- Good working knowledge of how large engineering programmes are set up and run
- Ideal experience would be as a Cost Controller/Cost Engineer on a similar nuclear project
- A degree or equivalent experience in a financial or project management office role

**Desirable Criteria and Qualifications**:

- Experience in working with data from Primavera
- Experience in creating monthly dashboard reports for large projects
- Experience in calculating earned value statistics
- Any project management qualification such as APM or Prince 2 would be advantageous
- Membership of a body such as ACostE would be advantageous
