We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join our Finance team to provide comprehensive support to the Finance office and to work flexibly across the Finance Department processing expense claims from staff, corporate credit card transactions, andprocessing supplier invoices for payment.
Purpose of the Role:
To provide administrative support in the Finance Office to include processing expenses, Barclaycard and the processing of information within the university purchase ledgers.
Responsible to: Finance Team Leader
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- Setting up suppliers, processing purchase Invoices, preparing BACS payments, reconciling supplier statements and monitoring credit balances, in line with University policies and procedures.
- Dealing with purchase order queries.
- Paying Schools in line with university policies and procedures.
- To process and pay online and paper staff expense claims, ensuring expenditure, coding and authorisation is in line with university policies and procedures.
- To be involved in training staff on the online expenses process.
- To process and pay external claimants, ensuring expenditure, coding and authorisation is in line with university policies and procedure.
- Ensuring expenditure on company Barclaycard is correctly authorised, coded and posted, in line with university policies and procedures.
- To undertake routine administrative and filing duties in support of finance functions as required.
- To collect, open and distribute internal & external mail.
- To provide cover to the Finance Assistant - student payments as required.
- To provide excellent customer service by responding to general financial enquires, received in the day-to-day operation of the Finance Office, and respond in a timely manner.
Knowledge and Skills
- They will have good IT skills and be an excellent communicator and be able to maintain effective professional relationships with internal customers and external contacts.
- We are looking for someone who is methodical and organised, who works accurately and has an eye for detail.
- Experience of using university systems, in particular Agresso, would be highly desirable.
