**Hours per week**:Full time (37 hours per week)

**Contract Basis**:2-year Fixed Term

**Salary Band**:10 (£38,295 - £42,503 p.a.)

**Location**:Across the Solent, with occasional need for national travel. Hybrid working.

Established in 2010, Solent LEP is a business-led collaboration between private, public and education sectors across the Solent. Of the 38 LEPs across England, Solent LEP represents one of the most significant coastal gateway regions in the country and has been responsible for securing and investing large amounts of public and private sector funding in ambitious projects to create new businesses, jobs and homes. The LEP also delivers a range of service programmes under contract, including the Solent Growth Hub and the LEP's Careers function.

**What is the role**
- Lead and manage employer engagement across the LEP.
- Work with employers, schools, colleges (including the South Coast Institute of Technology), and training providers to promote and encourage careers.
- Provide regular updates on progress.
- Work closely with business facing colleagues to offer support, drive collaboration and develop new funded opportunities from both the public and private sector.
- Work with Solent Freeport employers and the Freeport lead for skills.
- Support and encourage businesses across the Solent to expand their links with education and careers advisors (and vice versa) to enhance the delivery of careers education.
- Engage with local employers to increase the number of employer encounters and experiences young people receive on their journey through education
- Ensure that employers are aware of key priorities such as apprenticeships, traineeships, T-Levels, and graduate programmes.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Demonstrable experience of engaging and building relationships with leaders from businesses.
- Demonstrable experience of leading the planning, delivery and reporting of programmes or projects with stakeholders with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- A track record of winning new business from both public and private sector.
- Demonstrate an understanding of local skills and economic priorities and the issues facing young people in accessing employment.
- A demonstrable understanding of post-16 landscape including National Apprenticeship Service, Uni-Connect, National Careers Service and T Levels.
- A demonstrable understanding of school and business cultures and the challenges faced in delivering careers and enterprise.
- Engaging and motivational skills, able to set clear objectives, build accountability and inspire others to achieve results.
- Strong relationship management skills able to engage, influence and drive collaboration with a variety of stakeholders to achieve results.
- Articulate both verbally and written, confident public speaker and effective communicator with the ability to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds, and equally comfortable in reporting results to the funding organisation.
- Highly organised, well developed time management skills with effective priority setting. Strong project management skills.
- Proactive with the ability to work independently, prioritising a busy workload and many stakeholders and work collaboratively.
- Competent user of mainstream IT software, web-based technology, and social media.
- Research skills.
