**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**ROLE**:WELDER/FABRICATOR

**BASED**:WORKSHOP IN DALBEATTIE, DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY

**HOURS**:FULL TIME

**HOURLY RATE**:DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**

Time served welder/fabricator or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience

**JOB ACTIVITIES**

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

- The fabrication of high quality modular buildings and other structures
- Using a plasma cutter and grinder to cut corten steel container to specification
- Building modular units using box section light gauge steel
- Fabricating steel framing for windows and doors
- Creating and welding supports to strengthen containers
- Spray painting components and finished units
- Reading and interpreting architectural & supplier drawings
- Reading and interpreting works instruction
- Assisting with procurement and stock control
- Ensuring the most efficient methods of manufacturing are applied
- Self inspection of own work in accordance with company QMS
- Ensuring Company Health & Safety requirements are followed at all times, including housekeeping, PPE requirements, and machinery operations.
- Occasionally working with the wider team on other aspects of the build as required
- Periodically required to travel and complete work on-site, however, majority of work will be within our workshop.

**CORE SKILLS**
- Time-served welder
- A wide range of experience in fabrication, on which you can draw from
- Competent and confident in MIG welding; TIG welding experience would be beneficial,
- Capable of working to tight fabrication tolerances,
- Capable of problem solving and
- Capable of 'thinking on your feet'
- Experience of procurement and material management
- Experience in BIM and CAD drawings would be an advantage
