Are you an Electro-Mechanical Inspector with experience working in the defence or regulated environments based around Portsmouth?

If so, our client is looking for an Electro-Mechanical Inspector to join their friendly and ambitious team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team, who are working on sharing innovative solutions or manufacturing bespoke engineeringsystems.

The company specialise in the design and manufacture of atmospheric control systems for the defence industry and are part of the wider company group.

**Purpose of the role**

Inspection of all bought-out and Company manufactured components, materials and equipment.

**Key responsibilities and tasks**
- Efficiently carrying out all duties allocated by the Production Manager within the limits of their individual training and ability, in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures in current use.
- Checking by means of direct measurement, comparison, and/or visual observation that specific design and project requirements have been met on all bought-out and Company manufactured components, material and equipment, recording and reporting non-conformancesthereon in accordance with current procedures.
- Identifying and maintaining the Inspection status of all components, material and equipment throughout all stages of manufacture in accordance with current procedures.
- Checking by means of direct measurement, comparison, and/or visual observation that production aids and Company measuring equipment are within specified tolerance and capable of providing valid measurement data, recording, reporting and identifying thereonin accordance with current calibration control procedures.
- Keeping up-to-date on the latest inspection techniques and equipment and assisting the other inspectors in providing an effective Inspection service to all Company Departments as required.
- Being aware of and complying with, the Company's Quality policy and Quality Control procedures in current use.
- To be responsible for the Health and Safety and Environmental aspects of all work undertaken.

**General activities**
- Carrying out any other ad-hoc duties as required to support the needs of the business.
- Working and/or visiting various sites, as required, for short periods, which may involve absence from home.
- Maintaining a continuous professional development to ensure knowledge is up to date.

**Qualifications, experience and skills**

**Essential**
- Experience in inspection techniques and equipment.
- Minimum CSWIP 3.0 Qualified Visual Welding Inspector
- Confident user of Microsoft office, able to manipulate and analyse data within excel to intermediate standard
- Able to interpret drawings and specifications

**Desirable**
- Experience working in a Defence environment
- Able to communicate well both verbally and in writing
- Strong self-management and organisation skills, attention to detail

**Role travel requirements**
- Very limited travel in the UK may occasionally be required.
