**The opportunity**: This role will drive and manage Speciality Packaging development projects from concept through to completion following the NPD process, involving the relevant stakeholders to create a successful product.
**How you will impact WestRock**:

- Lead NPD projects for the operation.
- Coordinate all elements of the process from conception to delivery.
- Lead calls with the customer and understand the project and specification requirements
- Prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines and project specific requirements
- Create and maintain project trackers and critical path timelines
- Liaise with other sites, suppliers and internal teams on material and spec developments, requirements and proposed improvements or changes
- Liaise with the customer service, estimating, purchasing and planning teams to make sure NPD projects are progressing and meeting deadlines
- Provide regular updates on progress and key developments to the NPD team and senior management
- Manage trials through the design, print and production departments and suitably communicating results to the operation and external parties
- Follow the operations NPD process and aid in improving via your suggestions or colleagues
- Use the internal NPD system to make sure projects are tracked and tasks actioned accordingly
- Make sure department’s Key Performance Indicators meet agreed targets
- Identify, highlight and action opportunities to increase margins/profitability and efficiencies
- Identify, highlight and action any process improvements
- Develop and maintain effective internal and external customer relationships
- Attend customer briefings/meetings/reviews

**What you need to succeed**:

- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Past NPD / project management experience would be advantageous
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Programmes
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced & high volume manufacturing environment
- Passionate about results and fundamental belief in Health & Safety, Quality, performance and training
- Ability to prioritise workload, use own initiative, work within a team as well as work on your own.
