Application Support Team Manager

Forward Role are proud to announce that we have partnered with a global leader in education in the search for an Application Support Team Manager. The role is a Fixed Term contract with an immediate start in March 2023.
While a level of technical knowledge would be an advantage it’s not required. What is important is the ability to manage a team and their activities, providing management support as needed.
Responsibilities for the role include:
- Operational ownership of Applications within the scope of Application Support
- Ensure team activities are being carried out effectively
- Manage team performance through scorecard metrics
- Provide a point of team escalation
- Team training and development management
- Service Improvement initiatives
- Project Liaison
- Assist with planning and fulfilling department strategy
- Developing overall team structure
- Recruitment of team members as appropriate
- Process development
- Oversee Change/Release Management activity
- Manage team resource and availability
- Manage Team Welfare
- Ensure production environments are maintained & improved
- Assist Supplier Manager when needed for Contract renewal
- Maintenance and Release coordination out of hours when needed
Requirements for the role include and not limited to:
- Experience in a similar managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing performance development and KPIs.
- Experience with IT ticket life cycles
- Experience working with SQL/ AWS, Linux based servers and APIs (not essential)
During the duration of the contract the client expects to be developing team activities and structure and there is an opportunity to have a substantial influence in those activities.
The role is a hybrid position with 1-2 days a month required on site in either London or Manchester offices.
Salary £50K - £55K
