Applications are invited for the role of Specialist Adviser to work in the Gateway Services team, based in the UCA Library at Canterbury.

The Specialist Adviser is responsible for the effective delivery of information, advice and guidance to students, staff and visitors and for providing specialist information and advice on a range of issues including finance, health, welfare, housing and travel.

You should have experience of working in a customer service environment, preferably a busy academic library or support services environment. Effective interpersonal and communication skills and excellent customer service skills are essential. You should be a competent and confident IT user.

We are looking for someone who has a knowledge and understanding of welfare resources and with previous experience of delivering information, advice and guidance to young adults. You must have excellent administrative and organisational skills and be able to respond effectively under pressure and demonstrate initiative and flexibility. The ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively is essential for this role as is being prepared to use new skills and undertake staff development as appropriate.

Hours of work are: Monday - Friday: 9am - 5.15pm
