As a **Debt Verification Specialist **you will focus primarily on invoice verification of our client’s sales ledger by confirming receipt and status of invoices with their debtors and identifying the nature of any queries or reasons for non-payment.

You will work closely with the Onboarding, Relationship and Risk teams to ensure Bibby Financial Service’s security and profitability by completing thorough and efficient debt verification of prospective client’s and live client’s sales ledgers. Ensuring thorough and detailed conversations with our clients and their debtors and diarise follow up activity to ensure the debt verification is completed as timely and efficiently as possible.

**Your responsibilities as our Debt Verification Specialist will include**:

- Provide a thorough yet concise review of the debt verification to the Onboarding or Relationship teams and Risk Manager with any recommendations for action, following interpretation and analysis of findings.
- Proactively seek to understand the client’s business to ensure the potential risk to Bibby is understood, identify fraud through appropriate questioning and investigative skills and communicate concerns to necessary parties within the business.
- Work with both colleagues and clients to determine the most appropriate and effective way of verifying the debtor book.
- Determine the most appropriate way to resolve outstanding queries, negotiate and monitor payment plans where needed, personally handling problem accounts when necessary.

**What we are looking for in our ideal Debt Verification Specialist**:

- Working in an office environment in a large team (5-15 individuals)
- Experience of detailed financial data entry work
- Experience of regular Client and internal team interaction demonstrating excellent customer service
- Understanding of generic internal systems and commonly used software packages such as MS Office
