You role will be to provide efficient administrative support in all aspects of the department’s work as directed by the Assistant Service Manager, Cancer Performance. This includes accurate data input, prioritising your own workload, using own initiative, working independently and dealing with frequent interruptions.
- To develop and maintain a good working knowledge of Lorenzo and Casper and to be aware of the importance of data quality
- The post holder could deal with information and hear discussions about cancer treatment and sometimes end of life care for patients, which at times can become emotionally draining
- To attend non-clinical mandatory training in line with Trust policy
- To participate in the appraisal process and undertake training in the role as identified by the Assistant Service Manager, Cancer Performance
- To work in accordance with all Trust and directorate policies
- To carry out other such duties commensurate with the grade of the post, as may be required
- To always adhere fully to patient confidentiality and data protection policies

ENHT is seeking to maintain and expand the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre staff as we move to an exciting new future.

Main role requirements are below but for the full details please refer to attached a person specification.
- To receive referral letters and documentation from secretarial teams, electronic referrals from Casper system, and paper chemotherapy referrals
- To register patients onto Lorenzo system
- To add referrals to Lorenzo, taking care to ensure referrals are linked correctly to existing pathways, or new pathways created in line with 18 weeks RTT rules
- To add patients to ICE system to enable investigations to be requested
- To create patient notes, ensuring all documentation is filed correctly
- To act as main point of contact for changes to patient demographic information on Lorenzo
- To recognise the time sensitive nature of patient referrals and ensure they are dealt with quickly, efficiently and accurately
- To assist with the collection of notes required for MDT meetings
- General office administration and duties
- To attend departmental meetings as required
- To take ownership of any issues and escalate as required
- To ensure telephone calls are dealt with promptly and appropriately in a professional and efficient manner
- To maintain and develop relationships within the department, The Trust and outside agencies
