A new and exciting opportunity has arisen at the Royal Derby Hospital within the general surgery, for a 34.5 hour Pathway Coordinator to join our vascular team.

You will be part of an administration team of secretarial staff providing an efficient and professional medical secretarial service, within an established team of consultants. This role will be first point of contact for the clinical nurse specialist team within the vascular department

You will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication and problem solving skills. You will require high levels of tact, diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively. Minute taking skills and experience is essential to this role.

Responsibilities of this role cover a wide range of administration and secretarial duties including typing clinical correspondence for the Vascular CNS nurses, managing the vascular MDT, taking minutes, preparation of medical notes, checking results, diary management and dealing with a wide range of telephone queries. A flexible approach to workload is essential.

You will have a broad range of administrative skills and the following would be advantageous:

- Previous secretarial or administration experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An understanding of the 18-week RTT process
- Knowledge of the Trust Patient Access Policy
- Knowledge and familiarisation of medical terminology
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Audio typing qualification or experience
- Minute taking experience

The National Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme (NAAASP) screen 65-year-old men for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA)

Once the patient reaches the treatment threshold for surgery this role will support with the delivery of treatment within the national guidelines.

**The main duties of the role will be**:

- Supporting with the delivery of the NAAASP 8 week treatment targets and non NAAASP surgical repairs in line with NICE guidance
- Coordinate the vascular MDT - including prep, minuting, distribution of actions and follow up
- CNS administration support
- Working closely with the consultants and secretarial team to coordinate surgery dates
