**About the role**:
Are you interested in developing transport policy that will determine the changes needed to improve Brighton & Hove’s transport network so it can meet the challenges it faces? We need someone with an enquiring mind, good analytical and communication skills to assist in updating our Local Transport Plan.

Initially this will involve developing a sound evidence base of how the transport network is currently performing and identifying where improvements are needed. We will then need to engage with stakeholders and the public to share our analysis and develop policies that will address the issues identified. We will then produce an action plan to deliver the changes needed.

**About the role**

As a Transport Planning Officer (Policy) you will be part of the Transport Policy & Strategy team, within the City Transport Division. You will be responsible for:

- Assisting in managing a complex programme of work to complete tasks on time.
- The development and implementation of transport planning policies.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including the general public, to present evidence we have collated and co-produce policy with their involvement.
- Arranging stakeholder events and maintaining accurate records in line with data protection requirements.
- Assisting with bids for funding.
- Assisting with administration tasks across the team

You will be based in our offices in Hove Town Hall although flexible working, including home-working, is available. While based in City Transport you will also be collaborating with colleagues across the council, particularly those in planning and public health.
