Sitting within the broader Global Marketing and Commercial Operations (GMCO) function, this role leads the Global Glaucoma External Engagement strategy and aligned implementation. You will be responsible for developing the External Engagement priorities across the AbbVie Glaucoma portofio and have a positive impact on how patients are managed through defined initiatives such as advocacy development and the creation/delivery of industry-leading educational and training initiatives.

Working in partnership with external experts you will engage, influence and spark Glaucoma portfolio adoption across Eye Care professionals through advancing skills and knowledge across the therapy area.

Working as an integral member of the Global Brand Team and in partnership with colleagues in affiliates, you will have a Global impact to advance glaucoma care for the patients we serve.

**Glaucoma External Engagement Leadership**
- Lead the development of Glaucoma External Engagement and Strategic Communications through personal leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
- Integral member of the Glaucoma Global Brand Team, building and executing on portfolio and brand strategies
- Partner with affiliates to drive consistency of customer engagement strategies and initiatives.
- Collaborate with identified internal and external stakeholders to inform objectives and shape deliverables
- Build robust relationships and trust with Global External Experts through excellent communication and scientific knowledge.
- Consistent monitoring of market/scientific trends & competitive landscape to drive relevant and innovative strategies and communication objectives.

**Implementation and Execution of Global Medical Education activities**

Create and deliver innovative initiatives, leveraging face to face and virtual platforms. To include, but not limited to:

- Activities at select international congresses
- Abbvie Eye Care Standalone meetings across face-to-face and virtual channels
- Digital content to leverage omni-channel activities.

Innovate to optimize outreach through unique models and activities that differentiate to competitors and allow for sustainable and scalable approaches.

**Governance and Measuring effectiveness of Strategic Impact and associated initiatives**
- Critically review, benchmark, and modify the current format and delivery of programmes, both internationally and locally, to ensure the delivery of industry leading initiatives.
- Strong focus on team and activity in line with company procedures and SOPs (Global and involving relevant country compliance for country HCPs contracted for International activities)
- Ensuring strong governance processes are in place reflecting all relevant internal guidelines as well as external compliance regulations.

**Education and Experience**:

- Scientific background, Glaucoma experience essential
- Extensive experience in strategic communications / medical education
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical / device industry
- Complex Project management

**Essential Skills and abilities**:

- Able to understand the clinical and scientific aspects of Eye Care.
- Comfortable discussing scientific data and clinical techniques with senior clinicians and colleagues.
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong project leader with the ability to deliver complex projects in a timely manner.
- Ability to drive change.
- Excellent command of spoken English and preferably confident in at least one other relevant language
- Willingness to travel on a frequent basis.
