**SCIENCE OUTREACH OFFICER**

**The Big Science Project** is a rural-based Ceredigion company that provides a variety of exciting, hands-on, and engaging science-themed events for children aged 6 - 12. We are looking to expand our team of science instructors for our Summer of Science running between July 22nd to August 28th.
**About you and the role**
We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing, and friendly individuals with a strong work ethic, and capable of providing a friendly, fun, inclusive environment for children. You will be passionate about science and a willingness to run events and inspire young children across a range of science themes. We are looking for science outreach officers who can work with our team over the summer months to deliver all-day science camps for up to 30 children per event. The ability to travel all over Wales is required s part of this role and therefore access to your own vehicle is essential.
**ESSENTIAL**
- Previous experience in presenting, or be a confident person willing to develop these skills.
- Enjoys working with children.
- Must have a passion for science or be willing to learn the science activities and associated science knowledge.
- Must be available for the majority of the summer holidays (July 22nd - August 28th)
- Available for the Working hours of Monday - Friday; 8am - 4pm
- A full driving license and access to own vehicle is essential.
- An enhanced DBS certificate will be required prior to appointment.
**DESIRABLE**
- Welsh speaking: As a proud bilingual company, we endeavour to provide all of our events in both English and Welsh. Therefore, Welsh language skills would be desirable.
- First aid trained would be advantageous.
**SALARY**
- An hourly rate of £11.44 per hour
**Job Type**: Zero hours contract
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: £11.44 per hour
