Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

**Company Description**
We are a multisite fabrication company operating in the maritime and offshore industry throughout six services, five markets and across four distinct sites.
**Responsibilities**:
**Project Planning and Management**:
- Lead and coordinate mechanical maintenance & infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and specifications.
- Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, material procurement, and scheduling of activities.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure project success.
- Implement related RAMS, SSOW and LOTO/Isolations.
- Use Enterprise Resource Planning system (IFS) and AutoCAD system to update documentation and interpret technical drawings.
**Planned Maintenance and mechanical inspection, repair and maintenance**:
- Site responsibility for completion of mobile plant maintenance, repair and Legislative Inspection completion (e.g. Mobile Cranes, Forklift Trucks, MEWPs).
- Site responsibility for completion of fixed plant asset maintenance, repair and Legislative Inspection completion (Dockside Cranes, Gantry Cranes, EOT cranes).
- Site responsibility for maintenance and operation of business critical assets (Dock Gates, Pumphouses - and associated equipment within).
- Site responsibility for utilities provisions (Compressed Air, Potable Water, foul and storm systems).
- Troubleshoot, repair and/or replace defective components on mobile plant, Dockside Cranes, Gantry Cranes, EOT cranes and liaise with electrical department on repair methodology and isolations.
- Conduct themselves and oversee others in the installation, fault-finding, repair, test and upgrade of mechanical systems and mobile plant in the yards and on client project facilities, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to trade teams and subcontractors involved in installation and repair activities.
- Review electrical drawings, system diagrams, and other technical documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
**Project Support**:
- Provide technical assistance on key infrastructure and assets, including (non exhaustive), Dock Flooding, Dock Gate movements, Dock Dewatering and vessel services connections.
- Provide technical feedback and propose Yard improvements based on vessel requirements (both fixed infrastructure improvements and services equipment.
- Provide technical and resource assistance for Gantry Crane operations.
**Quality Assurance and Testing**:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for mechanical and maintenance installation, repair/replacement and testing processes.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Coordinate and participate in appropriate testing activities to verify the integrity and performance of systems e.g. pump performance.
**Safety and Compliance**:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel involved in maintenance operations.
- Conduct safety meetings, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
**Team Leadership and Development**:
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of mechanical maintenance fitters and sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the electrical department.
- Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the team.
**Qualifications** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Craft-level electrical installation qualifications with demonstrated diagnostic skills in industrial plant [Essential]
- HV Awareness, or willing to undertake training [Essential] HV Authorised Person trained [Desirable]
- Higher-level electrical technician skills, Level 4 and above [Desirable]
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Understanding and able to work with Quality procedures and process
- Ability to guide, mentor and build a team
**Education and Experience**
Extensive electrical installation, repair and diagnostic skills gained in environments such as heavy manufacture, industrial premises and ideally shipyards and marine facilities and vessels. Has advanced skills, typically gained through a combination of job-related training and considerable work experience. Has developed a specialized level of skill to perform assigned tasks
