There is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic motivated individuals to join NBT as a Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA)
You will be fully supported throughout the Trainee Nursing Associate programme by a well-established education team and experienced healthcare professionals.
An understanding of the Nursing Associate role is essential. This needs to be demonstrated in your supporting information in the context of the team, the organisation and how the role may contribute to service.
All applicants (where applicable) must have been resident in the UK for three years prior to commencing their Apprenticeship as set by the ESFA.
A visa needs to be in place for the length of the apprenticeship programme.
Applicants already on an apprenticeship must complete before commencing this apprenticeship programme.
Applicants who have previously applied for this vacancy and been unsuccessful will need to leave it at least 6 months before reapplying.
Knowledge and Expertise
- Understands and acts in line with NMC Code Of Conduct.
- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role contributes to service development.
- Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate
professional for expert help and advice.
- Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment
plan.
Experience
- Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs,
seeking advice where appropriate.
- Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information.
**Skills**:
- Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision
activities.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload.
- Ability to deal with non routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non verbal
communication) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people,
their families, carers and colleagues.
- Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model to nursing
associate students, other learners and health care support workers as
required within the clinical setting.

Clinical
- Deliver quality safe patient care, adhering to Trust policies.
- As appropriate work under supervision to participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Report findings as required.
- When appropriately trained undertake clinical competencies within scope of practice.
- Deliver safe quality patient care.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Report verbally and document in a timely manner change/s in a patients’ health.
- Communicate effectively with the immediate and wider clinical teams.
- Communicate effectively with patients/carers and relatives.
- In all actions undertaken adhere to local Trust policies and procedures.
- Understand and promote health education applicable to the workplace.
- Be aware of safeguarding processes, their implementation and action to be taken if appropriate.
- Undertake relevant training to assess and support junior staff.
- Awareness that continual assessment will occur in clinical practice to ensure completion of required learning outcomes.
Environment Support
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety process and procedures in relation to self, patient care, colleagues and the working environment.
Professional
- Be familiar with relevant Trust policies and procedures and where current information can be accessed
- Work within the TNA scope of practice
- Uphold the Nursing Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
