**Job Title**: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

**Hours of Work**: 22.5 hours per week (3 days per week)

**Reports to**:Clinical Director, Speech Hoppy LTD

**Location**: Mainstream primary/secondary schools and community visits in Slough area.

**Salary**: £37,162- £44,629 Pro Rata (matched to Band 6 NHS pay scales inclusive of HCAS)

**Anticipated start date**: 01/09/2024

**Are you a dynamic and passionate Speech and Language Therapist looking for a new role?**

Speech Hoppy is committed to provide a person-centered, evidence-based and impactful speech and language therapy services to children and young people in Slough, South Bucks and surrounding areas. This exciting role includes a mixture of:

- Contracted service days - based at schools or other educational settings, providing assessment and therapy, as well as targeted and universal activities, as an embedded member of the school team.
- Core service days - providing assessment and therapy across a small locality, visiting a mix of nursery and school sites, client homes and/or providing teletherapy. Core service days offer flexible working patterns and are hybrid, with part of the day working from home.

**Role and Responsibilities**:
The speech and language therapist will:

- Conduct assessments to identify specific difficulties related to speech, language, and communication.
- Provide evidence-based therapy that is person centred and impactful, as shown through outcome measures.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Develop school staff and/or caregiver skills in supporting communication.
- Provide supervision to speech & language therapists, assistants and students.
- Manage own workload, including booking appointments, record keeping and caseload management.
- Comply with professional codes of practice, professional guidelines, organisational policies and HCPC standards.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Minimum of 2 years experience, ideally in education or early years settings.
- Registration with Health and Care Professions Council.
- Registration with Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (desirable).
- Additional training in clinically relevant skills, interventions and approaches (desirable).
