This vacancy is for a personal assistant to join our client’s support package to support them in their own home. We will be your legal employer on behalf of the client and you will not be asked to support other clients. All of our contracts are for permanent positions with a 6 month probationary period. This vacancy is for weekend days, 8am to 4pm and is in the Birmingham area.

Our client is a young man in his 20s with a brain injury and complex care needs. Our client needs structure, routine and support with everyday tasks to enable him to access the community and social activities.

The ideal support worker for this package will have a calm, patient and kind nature. You should be an excellent communicator with good verbal skills as our client does not have verbal speech and instead communicates through facial expressions, Eye Gaze communication device and body language. You will need to be a driver with a full, UK driving licence and will be expected to drive our clients adapted vehicle to appointments and accompany him to participate in leisure activities.

Complex care and personal care is required in this role. Previous experience is not required if you possess the personal qualities and values that our client and his family wish for.

You will be trained to CQC standards to meet the needs of the client. If you are already known to the client and have care experience, this will be valued. Unless specified elsewhere, previous care experience is not essential.

**Essential Requirements Identified for this Role**:

- An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by HomeCareDirect)
- Driver with a full, UK driving licence
- Prepared to commit to long term care for one client in a person-centred way
- Willing to be trained to CQC standards to meet the clients needs
