Responsible for developing, co ordinating and delivering the aquarium's educational packages, public outreach activities, voluntary community programmes and events on and off site including, but not limited to, venue rentals and catering opportunities.

You will work closely with various departments within the aquarium and have a passion for the marine environment, conservation and sustainability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- As part of your role, you will be expected to deliver our education packages off-site at schools and at outreach events.
- Develop educational resources to support the aquarium exhibits as and when required.
- You will take responsibility for the management of group bookings and communicating that information with all other departments.
- To oversee regular social media feeds and posts to ensure maximum public education and engagement.
- Work closely with other aquarium departments, such as Marketing (Guest Experience) and Husbandry, to further develop high-quality education programs and events that advance the aquarium's mission.
- Be the liaison between the aquarium and clients, provide familiarization tours as needed, and create promotional events to bring outside event planners and members together to maximize the aquarium as a destination.
- Responsible for managing the incoming event inquiries by responding to all and developing all that you can into events for the aquarium.
- Attend meetings, trade shows, outreach and other related events to represent the aquarium as an event and group destination.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by management.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Be positive with a can do attitude, able to use initiative, and provide great customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills: including writing and crafts.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to speak welsh is essential.
- Experience of working with groups of various ages and backgrounds.
- Understanding of standard office IT software.
- Experience in hospitality and events is preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrated successful experience in organising or managing events and group activities and/or positions requiring substantial public contact, customer service, and community interaction.
- Full UK driver’s licence and access to transport.

This role is permanent, and the salary will comply with national minimum wages.

Work will be on an annual rota’d basis to provide sufficient cover in line with the needs of the business.

Due to the nature of the business, successful applicants will need to be available to work weekdays, weekends, public and bank holidays, during school holidays and occasionally after hours.

In line with the requirements of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. As part of the recruitment process, you will be asked to provide documented evidence of eligibility.
