**Department**:
The Student Life and Wellbeing team works to enhance all aspects of student life and experience at the University and is part of the Student and Academic Services Directorate. The team delivers a wide range of proactive and responsive wellbeing services to students and staff.
The Student Support and Advice team is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated individual to join the team, taking a leading role in the critical area of student money advice.
**Role**:
You will focus on improving student success in higher education by providing students with money-related advice and guidance as well as delivering initiatives to help students navigate their finances throughout their student journey. The Student Support and Advice team supports the delivery and implementation of our Access and Participation Plan, approved by the Office for Students, by addressing specific needs through the delivery of interventions that support students’ continuation, retention and academic success. The role is critical to delivering and enabling widening access to a range of advice and support, and includes holding and managing a student advice caseload and supporting the operation of the Student Support and Advice Team.
**Skills, Experience & Qualification needed**:
- An undergraduate degree is desirable or relevant equivalent experience
- Knowledge and understanding of underrepresented student groups in Higher Education
- Understanding of the Access and Participation agenda in higher education and the issues affecting different student groups
- Knowledge of Student Support Services Higher Education
- Knowledge and experience of money advice, working i an advisory capacity and managing an advice caseload
- An energetic professional and thorough approach to work, with attention to detail
- Ability to work using own initiative as well as part of a team
- Ability to solve problems and work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Ability to deal with issues of confidentiality and demonstrate empathy and diplomacy
- Excellent interpersonal skills, conveying a positive attitude and confidence in working with a wide range of people.
