Our client is one of the largest commercial vehicle bodybuilders in the UK.

Supplying thousands of converted vehicles to the van rental industry, local authorities, waste management and traffic management companies, their success in the past decade has been incredible. At the heart of what they do is old fashioned customer service and great build quality. We are delighted to helping them to find a talented and experienced Business Development Manager to continue their success.

They have a successful sales function which is growing and for the first time in their history require a Head of Sales to lead the team, ensure revenue targets are achieved, manage high level sales and to be an ambassador for the business.

**The Role**

In this critical role for the business, you will be responsible for setting, creating the strategy and the tactics that ensure the achievement of sales targets, and with great mentoring and coaching, managing, measuring and driving performance of the sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that delivers the business’s objective
- Set and track and manage sales targets for the team, and provide regular reports on progress to senior the leadership
- Identify and pursue larger new sales opportunities, with a focus on expanding the company's customer base and revenue
- Hire, train, and develop the sales team, providing ongoing coaching and support to help them achieve their goals
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, 121s and agree action plans
- Work closely with the marketing and product teams to ensure alignment and coordination in sales efforts
- Attend industry events and conferences to network and generate new opportunities

**About You**

You need to be a proven sales leader with a reputation for delivering outstanding results, and have an outstanding understanding and excellent knowledge of the Light Commercial Vehicle market.

Able to lead by example, setting essential sales disciplines and ensuring robust sales processes are followed.

You need to demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence.

**Skills and experience you need**:

- At least 5 years of experience in sales leadership, with a proven track record of delivering success in either commercial body-building or commercial vehicle sales
- A strong understanding of the LCV industry and the associated vehicle conversions
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with CRM systems and other sales tools
- P & L reporting experience as a department head
