We are looking for support on alternate Saturdays 8am to 3pm, plus every Friday 8-3pm, plus occasional holiday and absence cover.

The role is physically demanding and will involve working outside in all weathers. A good understanding of animal behaviour and how to conduct yourself around them is important. The role involves the need to work well as part of team. It is a practical job and will require good observational skills, an understanding of hygiene, customer care, computers and professional standards of conduct in the work place.

Duties
- Work in accordance with Milnthorpe Kennels and Cattery’s policies and procedures to support the owners to work in the best interest of the animals, our clients and the legal obligations of the business.
- Daily care, feeding, cleanliness and exercise of boarding pets (normally includes cats and dogs, may include small animals) and rescue dogs.
- Observe, monitor and record health aspects of all animals in our care.
- Ability to communicate clearly when issues arise in a factual & practical way.
- Work in the best interest of the dog to achieve successful rehoming, cooperating with the team’s approach to behavioural improvement.
- Assist in stock control of equipment, feeding and cleaning supplies
- Maintain good customer and team relations.
- Care and upkeep of all work areas including shop, kitchen, gardens, field, car park etc.
