As a Scrub Practitioner specializing in ophthalmic surgery, you will play a crucial role in assisting the surgical team during procedures such as cataract surgery, corneal transplants, and glaucoma treatments. Your expertise and attention to detail will ensure that each surgery is performed safely and efficiently, with the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Located at 10 Easter Shawfair in Edinburgh, Spire Shawfair Park Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest technology and staffed by a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, gaining valuable experience and making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Your temporary contract will begin on 22/04/2024 and end on the same day, with a shift start time of 07:30:00 and a shift end time of 17:00:00. For your hard work and dedication, you will be compensated at a rate of £310.65 per shift, reflecting the high level of skill and expertise required for this role.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing the operating room, assisting the surgical team with scrubbing, gowning, and gloving, and ensuring that all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained. You will also be responsible for monitoring patient vital signs during surgery, providing support and assistance to the surgeon as needed, and ensuring that all infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe and sterile environment.

To excel in this role, you must have a valid NMC or HCPC registration as a Scrub Practitioner, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in ophthalmic surgery. You must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
