**The Opportunity?**
- An exciting opportunity has arisen for _an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational professional to join Thurston Community College as our Mental Health Lead Practitioner.

You will work alongside our Welfare and Safeguarding Managers to plan, develop and implement a strategic plan to support mental health and mental wellbeing for our students. The ability to adapt to the needs of our students and deliver timely interventions is essential.

You will therefore be someone who values working as part of a team and who is able to train and support others to deliver programmes that overcome the barriers many of our young people are currently facing.

**Who are we?**

Thurston Community College is a large popular mixed comprehensive school. It comprises of two distinct and specialist sites. Our Thurston Campus, for students from Year 7 to Year 11 is situated four miles east of Bury St Edmunds. Thurston Sixth; Beyton Campus is located in the nearby village of Beyton, offering a bespoke centre of excellence for students in Year 12 and Year 13.

It was recently announced that the school will be part of the School Rebuild Programme. Due to our growing numbers we currently already have a building project underway which will house three new science classrooms due for completion in August 2023.

A new Principal was appointed in September 2021 and together with the Governing Body has set an exciting and aspirational vision for the College over the next five years. **We require a Lead Mental Health Practitioner who has**:
