The post holder is expected to work closely with the pre-assessment nurses. Duties within this service include booking pre-assessment clinics, cashing up clinics, arranging interpreters for patients, booking transport and beds for patients when required. Taking live calls or retrieving messages from the Endoscopy pre-assessment advice line and putting them on call back. The role includes daily filing.
The post will require you to work closely with the polyp nurse specialist and general anaesthetic pre-assessment nurses.
You will liaise with the GP practices and any other services to ensure that all relevant information is collated. You will be required to work across a range of IT systems to coordinate the booking of patient appointments.
The post holder will work both directly and indirectly with patients and their carers to assist in coordinating the care of patients through their hospital care journey, providing the patient with the relevant information and coordinate any test preparations that need to be sent or collected by the patient.
The post will require the coordination of appropriate services to maximise the delivery of the streamlined diagnostic pathways, thereby improving the quality and experience for patients.
- To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Endoscopy pre-assessment department
- The ability to work autonomously using your own initiative but adhering to operational procedures and established practices and referring to the supervisors when guidance is needed
- To maintain a positive, proactive, and professional approach to work at all times
- To work as part of team to deliver a first class service to patients and users of the Endoscopy service
- Actively supporting and contributing to the requirements of the service
- To utilise designated operational practices within the specific endoscopy reporting system and trust’s systems such as GCIS/ICS etc.
