**HR Advisor**
**Location**: Central Birmingham, with occasional travel to Bristol
**Contract**: Permanent
**Salary**: £40-45 k

We have an exciting opportunity for **an HR Advisor** to join our **HR and Payroll team, **to support our employee population of c300 individuals.
**The role**:
**Responsibilities**:
- **
HR Policy and best practice**:Act as a first point of contact for all HR queries, providing guidance and support to both line managers and employees. Develop and implement HR policy.
- ** Core processes**:Lead HR practitioner on all core HR processes including discipline, grievance, investigation work, contract variations and family leave. At times, will design and deliver training on HR topics. Particular focus is required on absence management and performance management.
- ** Absence management**:Regularly monitors absence levels, identifying where trigger points are hit and advises line managers on appropriate actions.
- ** Performance management**:Advise on the annual performance and development (PDR) process, assist line managers with development requirements and where necessary performance improvement plans (PIP’s).
- ** Business partnering**:Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the organisation, understanding the needs of managers and employees to provide a first-class HR service. Whilst operating in an advisory capacity, take true accountability for ensuring that the right HR solutions are implemented
- ** Recruitment**:With the HR administrator, oversee the recruitment process, ensuing that managers are effectively responding to campaigns through the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- ** Assists HR Director**: With key projects such as organisational restructuring, salary review and management development.
- ** Supports and mentors HR Administrator**: in maintaining accurate records, running induction, HR system development and reporting. Covers HR administration activities when Administrator is absent. E.g. starters, leavers, changes process and monitoring the HR inbox.
**Skills and experience**:
- **
Experience**: At least 2 years’ experience in an HR advisory capacity.
- ** Education**:GCSE English and Maths Grade C or above. CIPD Level 5 + or a Degree in Human Resources or a related field is highly desirable.
- ** Strong employment law knowledge**: Technically proficient in employment law, comfortable with HR policy and strongly process orientated.
- ** Employee relations**: solid experience in discipline, grievance, absence management and dismissals.
- ** Commercial awareness**: Understands profit as a key business driver and is not constrained by policy and process. Takes a balanced approach to risk and makes recommendations and decisions within the business context.
- ** Relationships**: Able to build strong relationships but also maintain objectivity and take a tough stance when required.
***7**. Numeracy **- Understands common HR calculations such as redundancy calculation, holiday accrual, employee turnover, sickness statistics and fully loaded employment costs.
- ** Communication Skills**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas, benefits and proposals to managers and employees.
- ** Self-management**:Organised with the ability to prioritise and manage own time. Able to make decisions quickly.
