Supporting the Global Technical Training Team through National Grid’s Finance and Procurement processes, you’ll ensure up to date awareness of initiatives that will impact upon sourcing and budget activities. You’ll manage the financial operations including, the operating expenditure, capital expenditure, workforce planning and capital budgets for the whole department, ensuring that we are compliant with financial and regulatory protocols. You’ll proactively lead the Finance and Analytics Team, ensuring continuous improvement and streamlining of work requirements.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Ensure that the monthly and quarterly routines are in place to monitor and manage the budget and forecast for the Global Technical managers.
- Produce the performance and financial metrics for the team monthly enabling the management team to make the operational decisions for the overall effectiveness and success of the department as well as optimising cost, operational performance, risk, and safety performance.
- Develop strong working relationships with all involved in the Learning & Development process (GTT Management, GTT Teams, MSP, Suppliers etc)
- Manage tender processes to meet Global Technical Training objectives.
- Raise purchase orders, invoice receipting and external income invoicing and routine finance requirements.
- Liaise with Finance to ensure all financial requirements undertaken for Global Technical Training including annual budget submission, reforecast, manpower etc.
- Provide Management Information to the Global Technical Training Leadership Team to support performance monitoring and to assist business case submissions.
- Provide information and assistance to wider National Grid business submissions involving Learning & Development.
**About You**:
- Finance Qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA or ICAEW) and experience working within Finance.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI experience
- Ability to present complex business and technical matters effectively.
- Commercial focus - good understanding of the cost and value drivers
- Strong stakeholder manager - ability to build successful working relationships.
- Experience supporting and guiding a small high performing team to deliver successful outcomes.
- Innovative and critical thinker
- Can take initiative and act in a proactive manner.
- Advanced project management skills
- Execution and results orientated.
- Good networking and collaboration skills
- Influencing and negotiation skills
- Resolution management skills
- Strong analytical skills with ability to analyse information and make decisions/assist the decision-making process.

**What You'll Get**:
- Up to £44,000 - £52,000 per annum - dependent on experience- Plus:
- Annual Bonus (based on personal and company performance) and annual salary review.
