Scunthorpe, United Kingdom Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust Full time

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse who has significant experience, ideally across a range of disciplines, and is keen to support nurses in the early years of their career.

You will provide mentoring, pastoral support, essential professional advice, education and guidance aimed at passing your "legacy" on to the next generation of nurses. You will play a crucial part in supporting staff wellbeing and career progression.

You will also co-ordinate the Legacy Mentor Project and develop and roll out a sustainable programme of legacy mentoring throughout the Trust

This role will support the implementation of the Legacy Mentor Project within the Trust. The Legacy Mentor is an experienced health care professional with significant experience and who will continue to practice on a regular basis in a clinical area. As part of the project the post will develop and implement the Legacy Mentor role, helping nurses, midwives, AHPs and those in other clinical roles who have been qualified twelve months or more, by imparting their knowledge, skills and experience through coaching and supporting them in the early stages of their career development.

By the end of this project, the post-holder will have developed and disseminated a robust legacy mentor ethos and built a sustainable programme, with the aim of embedding education in clinical practice, encouraging skills development and expertise in clinical areas, succession planning and clear career pathways to maintain talent within the Trust.
