We’re a national law firm with a local reach. Our philosophy is ‘Expert Hand, Human Touch’ - something you’ll find in the way we work with our clients and how we support our teams. But, we’re more than just a law firm - we’re a team, working together to help individuals and businesses navigate life’s ups and downs.
Whichever team you join, working here you’ll feel a part of our friendly and inclusive environment. We’ll value you for who you are and what you bring. We support each other and push boundaries to achieve incredible things, and make a real difference to our clients and communities.
The work we do has been recognised in the awards we’ve won. We’re committed to being even better, and our awards help to show we’re on the right track.
We recognise that the office 9-5 isn’t for everyone. That’s why we’ve introduced ‘Flexible by Choice’. Whether it’s working from home, in our offices, or a combination of the both, we trust each other to support our clients, colleagues and communities at the right time, in the right way.
**Your Role**
Working as a Delivery Lead, you’ll have overall accountability for the success of all Squads within the Portfolio, acting both as a leader and coach. You’ll ensure the delivery of the overarching plan by removing blockers, ensuring progress can be made by squad members by removing risks/issues outside of their control.
You’ll have responsibility for the day to day agile management activities and ensuring that Agile ceremonies are conducted consistently across the squads, driving a culture of skills growth and continuous improvement. In addition to this, you’ll have a solid grasp of how to scale Lean and Agile practices and understand the unique opportunities and challenges associated with facilitating and continuously aligning a large transformation program.
**What You'll Be Doing**
- Having accountability for maintaining and facilitating portfolio level resource plans, forecasting future resource requirements and working with Solution Lead, Product Lead and Chapter Leads to agree future resourcing strategies.
- Ensuring portfolio level ceremonies and processes are conducted focusing on value return.
- Responsible for operating the portfolio budgets and ensuring adherence to guardrails at portfolio level.
- Maximising the Squads ability to deliver Sprint goals and contribute to Portfolio objectives.
- Managing Squad capacity, utilisation and velocity. Engaging with other Squad Leads in the portfolio including leadership to discuss resourcing and utilisation.
- Building a robust high-level plan to deliver the portfolio strategy, considering budgetary constraints in delivering the plan successfully.
- Identifying, measuring and reporting return on investment across the Portfolio, based on Squad performance versus product backlog value.
- Tracking, removing and escalating any problems to maintain both pace and flow of value.
- Working with the Change Portfolio Office (CPO) on program execution and operational excellence.
- Supporting the Delivery Chapter Lead in the following activities:
- Nurturing and developing the skills and capabilities of people within the Chapter including accreditation where required.
- Developing talent and coaching people around their career paths
- Ensuring that the Chapter has the capacity and capability required to support the needs of Portfolios.
**What We're Looking For**
- Significant experience of leading the delivery aspects of Agile Portfolios and Squads.
- A background working within Transformation Programmes with multi million pound budgets.
- Significant experience in modern, cloud based technology standards and practices, such as API management and CICD pipelines.
- Delivery experience in either Legal Services Business Development, Core IT Infrastructure or other core business areas.
- Strong influencing skills, with the ability to identify and manage stakeholders.
- An articulate communicator, able to explain complex topics to colleagues.
**What we can offer you**
- 25 days annual leave, with the opportunity to buy additional leave
- Two fundraising days in a year to give back to the community (fully paid)
- Westfield Health membership, offering discounted leisure and travel and refunds on medical services
We also offer a huge number of well-being initiatives to encourage positive mental health both in and out of the workplace as well as flexible working options to ensure that you are fully supported to work the way that best suits you. Our social responsibility programme is fundamental to who we are. We’re committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace where our colleagues can flourish. We have a range of groups to celebrate our people across sexuality, disability, age, gender and culture.

As part of the Irwin Mitchell Group’s on-boarding process all successful applicants are required to complete the group’s employment screening process. T
