Failsafe Officer
We are looking for a Failsafe Officer to join our busy department. This role involves working alongside a team of medical secretaries and we require a hard working individual who has great organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise their work accordingly.
Your communication skills must be first class alongside a professional and friendly manner. You must possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy and an understanding of patient confidentiality and sensitivity is a must.
Oversee the day to day management plans for all Glaucoma patients through liaison with clinicians for:
- Investigations
- Treatment plan
- Review and assessments
- Ongoing treatments
- Transfer of patients to the CGN (Community Glaucoma Network)
To ensure all patient events are appropriately recorded, accurately and timely on the Patient Administration system (PAS).
To maintain an accurate tracking system and monitor compliance with defined treatment timelines for all patients.
To liaise with clinicians, service managers, waiting list staff and outpatient appointments (PSC) where patients are not booked within required timescales to agree and implement actions required to ensure full compliance.
To work with the Lead Clinician and Ophthalmology Operations Manager on service demands and available capacity, implementing any changes required to maintain a fully compliant service.
To provide regular reports on Glaucoma activity and tracking compliance to Trust clinicians, managers and PCT representatives.
The post holder must be able to prioritise their workload and have the ability to work autonomously and often under pressure.
