As a DVA Support Worker, you will deliver quality support services for men, women and their children/dependents who have experienced domestic abuse.

- You will actively manage new referrals from relevant agencies and individuals, conducting assessment interviews and risk assessments and obtaining information from agencies.
- Additionally, you will:
- Oversee risk management and rent collection
- Issue occupancy agreements and induct new service users
- Advocate for and support service users to take up their housing and legal rights
- Promote service user empowerment

**About You**

To be considered as a DVA Support Worker, you will need:
- Experience delivering support to adults from diverse backgrounds with complex needs in a supported environment
- Experience undertaking individual assessments
- Knowledge of strategies to empower service users to address issues of DVA
- An understanding of local and national approaches to tackling domestic abuse

**Overall Aim**

Work alongside the team to provide a safe and empowering environment for women and their children/dependents who are/have experienced domestic abuse in a refuge setting and women and men who have experienced/are experiencing domestic abuse in the community.

Deliver quality support services for Housing for Women within the standards and contract assessment and monitoring framework set out by our Commissioners and funders.

Contribute to the implementation of the team’s aims and objectives and operational policies and procedures in such a way that they contribute to the mission of Housing for Women and deliver on business plan objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the delivery of services to service users, ensuring effective reporting to the Manager as appropriate
- Responsible for risk management and rent collection (refuge only) within the team
- Responsible for, high standards of customer care.
- To act in accordance with the values and aims of Housing for Women
- To promote and implement Housing for Women’s policies and procedures

**Key result areas**
- Take responsibility for the effective day to day management and smooth operation of the refuge and provide effective support to the women and children
- Manage own caseload, key working women using individual support plans
- Actively manage new referrals from relevant agencies and individuals, conducting assessment interviews, risk assessments, obtaining relevant information from relevant agencies.
- Issue occupancy agreements (refuges only) and induct new service users into the service. Preparing rooms for residents as required
- Ensure the provision of practical and emotional support to vulnerable women and their children/dependents:

- Carry out regular risk assessments and promote the safety of women and their children, assisting them in safety planning
- Assist women & men in the community to access any additional security measures and Sanctuary provision
- Enable service users to access appropriate health care and specialist support
- Provide information about and help service users engage with local agencies and community resources ensuring cultural needs are met
- Encourage and support service users to identify, access and maintain appropriate education, training and employment
- Support women to understand and access their legal rights
- Advocate for and support women to take up their housing rights
