I am working with a primary and secondary special school in Greenwich who are looking for Behaviour mentors or Youth workers to join their school on a full time and long term basis.

The children come from a wide range of backgrounds, in particular - Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour.

Some students would've come from a gang related background so the ideal person would need to be resilient, understanding and most importantly, have empathy.

Their closely triangulated approach places the child at the centre of decision making, ensuring that education and therapy professionals, parents/carers, local authority teams ensuring the students can work together to secure outstanding outcomes for all.

**The Role**

The school require very special adults who can support children with complex and challenging behaviours.

Behaviour mentors or Youth workers will understand that the children require lots of attention, communication, consistency and flexibility in equal measure, and a non-judgmental approach. They need to be resilient, persistent and solution focused to meet the needs of our pupils and to do so they need to wear a lot of hats and be prepared to change them at a moment’s notice

**Behaviour mentors or Youth Workers will**:

- Support teaching and learning
- Work with children 1:1 or delivering sessions with small groups of students.
- Manage classroom resources.
- Take children on educational trips and visits.
- Have their lunch with children who struggle socially.
- Have a good basic understanding or English and Maths
- Keep children safe when they are experiencing heightened behaviours with strong behaviour management skills and excellent communication.
- Create, play and teach games to pupils to develop their social skills or further learning.
- Be paid £90 - £110 a day - based on experience.
- Commit to full time - Monday to Friday - 8:15am - 3:30pm
- Have confidence.
- Have a sense of humour

**Safeguarding**

Complete Classroom Services are highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. You will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.

All school-based staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children. All school staff should be aware of the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times.
