Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an opportunity for a Technical Support Officer on a 3 month contract with a possibility of an extension.

This position will be a total of 36 hours per week, with hours from 08:00am - 17:30pm.

**Job Purpose**:
Delivery of technical and core administrative and financial support to the Imported Food Team.

To assist the Team of Environmental Health Officers, Food Safety Officers, Technical Officers and Official Veterinarians in providing an effective and efficient service on behalf of the London Borough of Hillingdon in respect of imported food functions atHeathrow Airport's Border Control Post.

To provide clerical and administrative support which includes inputting consignment details, processing payments and invoicing information, and providing first class customer service to service users.

**Job Specific Accountabilities**:

- Ability to learn complex and specialised administrative tasks in a short space of time to meet changing service requirements.
- Responsible for delivering routine and flexible administrative and technical support tasks to ensure that the team meets the required service standards and performance indicators.
- Maintain an understanding of the operational workflow processes that govern the work of the Imported Food Team.
- Answer all incoming telephone calls in a prompt, friendly manner in accordance with the Customer Care Policy. Respond to queries regarding charging procedures and processes and direct all other calls to the relevant officers.
- Carry out reception duties and act as 'first point of contact' for visitors to the office.
- Effectively manage large amounts of data, input data into internal database systems and carry out general internal database maintenance e.g. modifying tables, queries and reports.
- Ensure all relevant information on consignments are recorded and cross-referenced on all databases and any discrepancies brought to attention of the Principal Environmental Health Officers and Team Manager.
- Produce performance statistics and financial reporting as required.
- Assist with the development of expert case management and document management systems to resolve complex system issues.
- Assist in admin arrangements for imported food sampling, including ordering equipment to be used at the examination facilities and booking couriers.
- Responsible for ensuring the office has sufficient supplies of stationery PPE and equipment and ordering of uniforms.
- Maintain records of all orders and invoices processed for the unit, process all orders on the Oracle system.
- Ensure all office equipment is in good working order, faults are reported, and essential repairs carried out.

**Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience**:

- Experience of supporting a multi-disciplinary team with comprehensive technical administration services (including database/system administration).
- Experience of prioritising high volumes of work effectively and accurately, and to deal with routine matters on own initiative within deadlines.
- Experience of working under competing pressures.
- Excellent ICT skills including the ability to use Service specific software including case/data & financial management systems.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills, dealing with both telephone and face-to-face enquiries.
- Minimum 5 GCSE level pass including maths and English, or equivalent to illustrate a good level of literacy and numeracy.
