Our client a FMCG company based in Paddock Wood is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant. The job purpose is to be a member of the Finance team with responsibility for Credit Control and ensuring that sales invoices and credit notes are raised and sentin an accurate and timely manner. Make sure all monies are collected on a timely basis and all arrears are dealt with. Will also be making sure all sales invoice queries are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner. Other Key Accountabilities willbe:

- Manage the POD processing and dispute process using various reports and information to reduce possible discrepancies.
- Approve supplier invoices for transport
- Ensure all sales invoices (both EDI and non-EDI) and credit notes are sent to and received by the customer.
- Reconcile sales data between KBS and Xero to ensure all sales data transferred across is complete and accurate.
- Ensure all sales are coded and posted correctly in Xero, including treatment of VAT.
- Generate manual invoices and credit notes as required.
- Update and allocate customer receipts correctly
- Liaise with customers on a regular basis, ensuring an understanding of when monies are being paid and ensuring all debts are paid on time
- Submit Statements of Account to customers on a regular basis, reconciling all discrepancies in a timely manner
- Respond promptly to external and internal queries in an efficient manner, investigating and resolving issues to prevent a delay in payment or receipt allocation.
- Pre-empting queries which might arise on payments and dealing with customers to ensure the best results
- Create Aged Debtors report for management on a weekly basis providing relevant insightful commentary on overdue amounts,
- Set up new customers within Xero and continually monitor credit ratings of existing customers, adjusting where relevant and ensuring adequate and appropriate credit limits are assigned to customers.
- Provide recommendations to management of customer accounts that should be put on hold.
- Input employee expense details onto Xero.
- Provide cover for the Purchase Ledger function on an as and when needed basis.
- Provide support to the Finance team in generating departmental reports (e.g. monthly accounts, VAT returns, budgets, etc)
- Undertake administration and reconciliation of all paperwork to ensure efficient referencing, full account histories and compliance with best practice accounting.
- Concise management of customer claims (short deliveries) and the reporting of such to the relevant customer teams.

Maintain effective relationships within Finance, Commercial, Warehouse and all other areas of the business.
- Support and drive process improvements and initiatives that positively influence the function and the wider businesses
- Comply with all relevant Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Health & Safety Policy, Equal Opportunities, Diversity & Dignity at Work Policy and Hygiene Policy.

It will be an advantage to have working knowledge of the Fresh Produce industry and experience of working with Logistic companies.
