**Job Background**

The role of the Early Years Assistant will be to deliver quality early year’s services to support the delivery of Early Years Programmes within the community.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- To implement a child-centred and welcoming environment at all Early Years programmes and activities.
- To ensure a safe, stimulating and varied programme of play and learning opportunities are provided for children aged 0 - 3 years, suitable to the child’s age and stage of development.
- To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to support planning, to meet children’s individual needs which considers children’s abilities, interests, language and cultural backgrounds.
- To organise the environment inside and outside to ensure that resources and equipment are available, compliant, and appropriate to meet the needs of the individual child.
- To ensure preparation and maintenance of all facilities required, such as rooms, material and equipment and ensure all resources are left clean and tidy after sessions.
- To work alongside parents to enable them to develop their children’s maximum potential and to support programmes that promote and actively encourage parents to play alongside their child / children.
- To work with parents and their child / children within the home environment to offer an extension of services to the family on play, interaction and sensory development.
- To provide support for all children’s emotional and social needs by promoting positive behaviour through your role modelling and work performance.
- To open, maintain and accurately record as required by the job role and ensure compliance to good record management & information systems.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Minimum of QCF Level 3 Child Care qualification or equivalent
- English Language and Mathematics at grade C or above
- Clean drivers’ licence, access to transport and Business (Class) Car Insurance for the vehicle and driver

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract

**Salary**: £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
