**Location**: Southampton region

**Hours**: Monday to Friday, 8:50 am to 3:20 pm (term time only)

**Salary**: £19,380 per annum (pro-rata) inclusive of holiday pay.

ABC Education is an approved provider for Hampshire Council supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs. We are dedicated in providing educational support for children with severe, complex, and profound learning difficulties. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of our students. Working in collaboration with teachers, you will contribute to creating a positive and enriching atmosphere for children with diverse learning needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Collaboration and Partnership**:

- Work closely with teachers to foster effective participation of pupils in both social and academic aspects of school life.
- Collaborate with the teaching staff to implement individualized learning plans and provide support as needed.
- **Individual and Group Support**:

- Assist individual students or small groups in various learning activities, ensuring they stay on task and complete activities set by teachers.
- Provide one-on-one support to address specific learning needs and encourage independence.
- **Behavioural and Emotional Support**:

- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social interaction and emotional well-being among students.
- Implement behaviour management strategies in collaboration with the teacher to ensure a supportive and respectful atmosphere.
- **Communication and Reporting**:

- Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, other support staff, and parents to provide updates on student progress and address concerns.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports and documentation related to student achievements and challenges.
- **Resource Management**:

- Organise and manage educational resources, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.
- Support the implementation of adapted materials and technologies to meet the diverse needs of the students.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in a similar role or a strong passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity in the learning environment.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development.
