Are you looking for a HR role which is truly generalist?

We are looking for a talented Human Resources professional to join our small and friendly team. You will be based in our modern offices in the centre of Ashton-Under-Lyne with regular travel to our academies, currently based in Tameside and Rochdale. This is a unique role where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people across Tameside and Rochdale.

**About You**

You will have experience of providing a client focused HR service which is solutions orientated. You will have practical employment law knowledge and the ability to build strong working relationships with people at all levels. You should be able to adapt your approach to meet the demands of the role.

You must be able to align advice with terms and conditions of employment and the relevant HR policy in play. Although not essential, it would be desirable if you have direct experience of working in a HR role either within a school, Multi Academy Trust, Local Authority etc. Ideally, you will be familiar with school teachers’ terms and conditions of employment (although this is not essential). If you are not from an education sector HR background then you must be able to quickly familiarise yourself with the relevant terms and conditions of employment in order to provide sound advice to the academies.

You will have flexibility in your approach to work, mainly working between the central office and schools. There will also be some opportunity to work from home where diaries allow.

**About the Role**

The role is highly varied and fits into a small HR team. You will be the first point of contact for all HR matters which will include Employee Relations, Casework (Disciplinary, Grievance, Capability, Absence, Probation), Managing Change (Restructures, Redundancy and TUPE transfers), Recruitment & Selection and the full Employee Life-cycle (Onboarding, Staff Engagement, Training & Apprenticeships, Offboarding).

You will partner the Principal of each school to find practical solutions to maximise staff engagement. You will be in regular contact with our recognised trade union officials and must be able to build on the existing good working relationships.
