SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL & INCLUSION COORDINATOR

FUNDA wish to appoint an inspirational SEMH and SENCO to join our dedicated team. The role is full time 40 hours per week, permanent and includes a part time delivery commitment of up to 5 hours per week term time and 35 hours per week non term time, for example leading groups at an SEND pupil program.

This post would be suitable for an experienced teacher/person who has gained the NASENCO qualification (or is currently on the NASENCO course) and would like to make a difference to the children and families who attend our FUNDA prorgammes. You will be on the Leadership Team with responsibility for the strategic and operational oversight of our SEND/SEMH policy and provision.

The main purpose of the role is to coordinate our Special Education & Inclusion programmes across Lancashire & the North West with the following aspects;
**Policy Development and Implementation**:

- Collaborate with leadership to develop, review, and implement policies related to special education and inclusion.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and national regulations governing special education.

**Professional Development**:

- Provide ongoing training and professional development for support staff, and administrators on best practices in special education and inclusion.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, research, and methodologies in the field of special education.

**Collaboration with Staff**:

- Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with practitioners, special education teachers, teaching assistants, and other support staff to ensure the effective delivery of inclusive education.
- Facilitate team meetings to discuss progress, share strategies, and address challenges.

**Parent Communication**:

- Maintain open and transparent communication with parents of students with special needs.
- Conduct meetings to discuss student progress, address concerns, and involve parents in the decision-making process.

**Data Management, Analysis and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of pupils receiving special education services, track progress, and prepare reports for leadership, parents, and regulatory agencies.
- Use data to assess the effectiveness of interventions and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data related to student progress, program effectiveness, and the impact of interventions.

**Community Partnerships**:

- Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations, agencies, and professionals to enhance the support network available to students with special needs.

**Knowledge of Special Education Laws and Policies**:

- Understanding of local, state, and national regulations governing special education to ensure compliance and advocate for students' rights.

**Assessment and Differentiation**:

- Ability to assess diverse learning needs, collaborate on the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles.

**Collaboration and Teamwork**:

- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with teachers, support staff, administrators, and external agencies to create an inclusive educational environment.

**Communication Skills**:

- Clear and effective communication skills to engage with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.

**Problem-Solving and Decision-Making**:

- Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges related to inclusive education and make informed decisions that benefit students with special needs.

**Advocacy**:

- Ability to advocate for the needs of students with special needs, promoting inclusivity within the community and advocating for necessary resources and support.

**Leadership**:

- Leadership skills to guide and inspire educators, support staff, and other stakeholders toward a shared vision of inclusive education.

**Cultural Competence and Sensitivity**:

- Cultural competence and sensitivity to understand and address the diverse needs of students with special needs and their families.

**Professional Development**:

- Commitment to ongoing professional development to stay informed about the latest research, methodologies, and technologies in the field of special education.

- Strong organizational skills to manage paperwork, documentation, and coordination of resources effectively.
